Kamakura – Hansobo Shrine

The Hansobo Shrine in Kamakura is one of my favorite Shrines I’ve ever been to.┬áLocated in the mountains of Kamakura, it’s a bit of a climb but definitely worth a visit. Around the temple you’ll find many, impressive Crow Tengu statues and a you can even see Mount Fuji when it’s clear weather.

Hansobo Shrine is part of the Kenchoji Temple. Entry is 300 yen. Daily open from 08:30 – 16:30. The Kenchoji Temple is a 15-20 minute walk from Kita Kamakura Station (JR Yokosuka Line) or a 15 minute walk from the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, located in the center of Kamakura. There is an (English staff available) information desk at Kamkura station where you can get a detailed map or just follow the signs.
